Hey, All, My wife bought a Honda Rebel 250 exactly one month ago...put 850 miles on the little girl. Now, she wants a bigger scoot. She test drove a Savage...thought it was a lot more powerful...yet manageable (as compared to my tricked Harley Sportster 1200). We are looking at used. Here is the US, the Rebel cost us 2850 minus tax, tags, etc. Trade in one month later is a wopping 2200!! Advice? Go with the Savage to start...although you won't appreciate it fully when comparing it to the Rebel. The difference in weight is about 50 lbs. The only thing that we HATE is the speedo on the tank, no trip meter to measure the ticks until the next refill, and the key being very low and to the left rear...YUK!! Other than that, the bike is perfect. Right now, we are looking at a used 1998 with 300 miles for 2995...not bad, considering the best I can do for new is 3700 here in Pennsylvania.
Thanks, best wishes, Bill
